July 26, 2020 Update

New Life Baptist Church Family and Friends,

New Life Baptist Church Mask Policy – beginning Wednesday July 29, 2020

We have recommended wearing masks because it has the possibility of helping to diminish the risk of Covid19 spread. We are all aware that the opinions vary about the effectiveness of masks, social distancing, and hand washing. Our desire, as followers of Jesus Christ, is to cause no harm intentionally to another individual where care could be reasonably exercised.

The governor’s recent mask mandate is certainly confusing and contradictory in many regards. In the mandate however, there is a clear exemption given to “any person attending or engaged in a religious service as he or she must already maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.” (Executive Order 20-37, section 4, item o)
In light of this, if you do not wish to wear a mask at our services, you will be asked to maintain the minimum social distance requirement. The majority of our congregation has been wearing masks over the past weeks even when social distancing of six feet was maintained. Our aim is to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind. Closely following this, of course, is love of our neighbor as we would ourselves.

May 9, 2020 Update

New Life Baptist Church Family and Friends,

Beginning Sunday, May 10, we will again welcome you to join us for our 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM services. We will also continue to hold our Wednesday evening service at 7:00 PM. We will be implementing a number of safety precautions for those attending. If you are planning to attend a service, please call, text, or use the form below so we will know how many people to expect.

Making the decision to come or not to come may be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. We are asking those at risk and those who have been sick to remain home. You may watch our services on the website www.nlbaptist.com or on Facebook: www.facebook.com/newlifebaptistindiana

We encourage those who are not at risk or sick to attend while maintaining social distancing and safe practices. Doing right by others and the Lord is the definition of Love (Romans 13:10). This is the ever-increasing (abounding) kind of love that Paul speaks of in Philippians 1:9-11 – and it is reflected in knowledge and judgement. Knowing what one should do and then making decisions that are “proven as best” (that’s what “things that are excellent” means) allows us to be both sincere and without offence until Christ returns.

This is a time for Christ-like love to be reflected in our decisions. The end result? The fruits of righteousness which are by Christ Jesus give glory and praise to God. If you still have questions after praying about this and want to ask me, please feel free to give me a call or use the form below.

For the cause of Christ,

Pastor Frank Finney
